Understanding Internship - Academic Project Contents

So after discussing what an Abstract is and the Purpose of Abstract in the previous post, let dig deeper about the other contents in the Academic Project.

If you haven't read our previous post, I strongly recommend to read it before continuing with this post.

Any typical Project contains the following contents

Chapter 1 - Introduction

                   Need and Importance of Study

                   Scope of Study

                   Objectives of Study

                   Limitations of Study

Chapter 2 - Research Methodology

                   Research Methods

                   Sources of Data

                        a. Primary Data

                        b. Secondary Data

Chapter 3 - Industry Profile and Company Profile

Chapter 4 - Review Of Literature

Chapter 5 - Data Analysis and Interpretation

Chapter 6 - Findings

                   Conclusions

                   Suggestions

                   Bibliography      

Up to Chapter 2 we have already discussed in the previous post about "Abstract".

Coming to the next Content topic " Industry and Company Profile" this s nothing but the Secondary data collected from different sources like Annual Documents, Internet, etc. Here you should go through different sources in internet or other printed articles given by the company and highlight important points in those which are someway related to your project and prepare the content under this topic.

The Next topic is "Review of Literature" here we need to research on the project topic what we are doing, if you are project is on Portfolio Management, read different books on portfolio management and take out the main theme of Portfolio Management and keep it here. Its good practice to read as much as possible here before we start the actual project, so that it will help to understand more about the project work you are doing.

The next chapter is data analysis and interpretation, here you present the data what ever you have collected and do analysis on that data using graphs and calculations and finally come up with the findings of your analysis

In the final chapter you segregate the findings what ever you found out in your analysis point wise. Then based on these findings you give your conclusions and suggestions for the company for which you have done the project.

Here one important point I want to make is the Objectives what ever you mentioned in the first chapter should match with the findings you have found out, what I meant to say is if your objective is to find risk and return of Portfolio and in the findings you just mention that Shares are good investment, it does not match, so your findings should be about the risk and return values you found out for the portfolio and the conclusions and suggestions should again match with this findings, hope you understand the point I'm trying to make here

Finally in the Bibliography, you mention the books you referred and the websites you visited for collecting all the data required for your project.

So hope you understand what a project work is and what the contents are in the project work and there significance.
