Finance Interview Questions & Answers on Project

The easiest part and important part which is missed by most of the MBA finance Freshers while preparing for interview is preparing about the project done in the MBA. Even if they remember the big hurdle for them what questions they are going to get on the project and how to answer them. So here today I'm going to tell you about the questions to expect on your project and the best answers for those questions through this post.

Before we go further into detail, if you haven't read our previous posts on Abstract and Project content, I request you to go through them before you read this blog post to understand completely about what we are discussing here.

The first question and most general question is "Tell me about your project."

Here the best answer would be to start with is like " I have done my project on "so-and-so" topic", and explain a little bit about the topic, like giving the definition of the topic and then jumping to your Objectives of Study in your project which we already discussed in our previous post "Academic Project Contents"

Here how to do it

My project is on "So-and-So Topic" So topic means " definition of the topic" My objective of study is "mention your objectives"

Now after this jump to the ways how you collected the Primary data and Secondary Data.

Then you mention the what formulas you used to analyses the data, its always not required to use formulas in analyzing the data, some projects might use graphs or pie charts or some other tool to analyze the data so what ever tools you have used to analyze the data mention that.

Then you need to mention the findings you got through your analysis and based on those findings what conclusions and suggestions you have provided to the company, again its not always you will have conclusions and suggestions some project may just have suggestions some project just have conclusions, some projects may not have both, you can end them with findings, it depends what ever you have just explain it that will be enough.

Now after this what are the next questions you could expect on project, based on your explanation you will be asked the next questions, if you have used formulas in analysis they might ask you about those formulas for example if your project is on ratio analysis they might ask you some ratios used in your project, if your project is on portfolio management they might ask the formula for systematic risk or even they might ask you about the difference between systematic and unsystematic risk.

So this where the research you have done while writing "Review of Literature" in your project will come handy.

Already I have told you in my previous post that do as much research as possible in this section for this purpose only.

The maximum number of questions you will get from your project is only from these topics
Introduction
Objectives of Study
Review Of literature
Data Analysis and Interpretation
Findings
Suggestions
Conclusions

Be thorough with this topics in your project you could answer any question on your project in the finance interviews and believe me if you clear this along with "Tell Me about yourself" you have won 75% of the interview, sometimes 100% of the interview, the job is yours. All the best.
