The
First thing to is to get to know the vacancies in companies. For this I
would suggest to post your Resume in job sites like indeed, Naukri and
Monster, where you will get email communication or companies may contact
you through phone after visiting your profile in the sites. Also you
can join groups in Facebook like "MBA Finance Careers" where
information about job vacancies are posted regularly. And finally, you
can check the company websites and email your resume to the concerned hr
mail given in the company sites.Once you got shortlisted, you will get interview call, generally they might specify a particular date and time in the call letter, but in some cases they might keep it as a free walk-in, for this generally they conduct interviews for a couple of days, in such cases I've seen most of the students postponing to attend the interview till the last day, last hour. Here I strongly recommend you, to attend this walk-ins at the first hour first day. Here the reason for this, if some thing unexpected happens at the end, the last day of interview will be finished and you may not get the chance of attending the interview at all. But if this happens when you are trying to attend it on the first day, you will have the chance of attending it the next day. The second important point is this interviews are like first come first serve that means if the recruiters are happy with candidates attended in the first day itself and they have already finalized them, the students attending the interview next days will have very little chance of getting jobs. Some times the walk-in will be rolled off even before the scheduled date as the company got all its vacancies filled. So be there on first day first hour.
Most probably the first round would be personal round or communication skills, where they might ask you to tell about yourselves, or they might keep a JAM(Just a Minute) or Group Discussion. I would suggest you, to be ready with 5 to 10 JAM topics prepared before going to interview, as sometimes they simply ask you to speak on any topic you like for a minute.
Of-course sometimes they might ask you to talk on a specific topic given by them. We will make a separate video for this and give you some tips about this as well as on group discussion.
After clearing the personal and communication skills round, it will written test, generally they test your subject knowledge, English and Ar-thematic & Reasoning in the written test, I would suggest to attempt each section as most of the interviews will check qualifying marks in each section, how ever its better to clarify this with the recruiter before you start to attempt the written test, so that you could allocate time accordingly for each section.
The next round is going to be technical round where you subject knowledge will be tested in depth. Here is you can expect a question from the answer you give. That is if you have used a term called "Liability" while answering a question. The next question might be on Liability itself. So be careful with the terminology what you use while defining something. Best thing is, prepare using the terminology which you already know while answering.
The final round will be HR round, where they may specify the salary and other terms and conditions. Here for MBA finance Fresher, there isn't much to bargain as companies follow the same standards for every one, so by bargaining you won't be getting anything more, so I suggest to accept for all terms & conditions, unless if something appears to be too tricky for you.
Hope you got something from this topic, will meet you with another useful topic in next topic 😊
